In 1967 Athanasius Balatsos was one of the first of his era who had taxi in the Meteora region.

He was the man who lived near the greatness of Meteora, knowing firsthand their history. He also was for many years a partner of monasteries at a time when there was a great flourishing of monasticism.

 

The experiential life on a daily basis by the monks and by the nuns had resulted in the unedited transmission to his children and to his grandchildren who are now the followers of his enterprise at the Greek Orthodox tradition of Meteora.
